Make nourishing meals easier.

life is easier when you have pure beef in your freezer, just waiting to be grilled, roasted or thrown in the crock pot.

How this works.

Here’s a quick overview of the ordering process. Its sounds a little complicated at first, but we work hard to make it easy for you!

  1. You can buy a 1/4 beef, half beef or whole beef. Technically You’re buying a percentage of a live beef animal! This is to satisfy the letter of the law when your beef is processed at the butcher shop.
  2. You pay us a deposit when you order (to reserve your % of a live beef animal), your final cost is based on the hanging weight (weighed by the butcher) plus you will pay for the processing, which is also based on the hanging weight plus a few flat fees.
  3. Ordering is simple, we’ll communicate via email and answer any questions, plus we’ll discuss your beef cut sheet options for what kind of steaks, roasts etc.. you would like.
  4. We’ll tell you in advance when your beef will be ready. We deliver the live beef animal to the butcher shop.
  5. We offer delivery. After your beef is aged, cut, wrapped and frozen we can deliver it either to your door or a drop point (depending on your location). If you live near Grand Forks North Dakota (including the Grand Forks, Devils Lake, Grafton, Langdon or Cavalier areas).

Ordering FAQ’s:

Q: What is a quarter beef?

A: We sell a true 25% of the animal,(a “split half”) so you will get a sampling of all the steaks, roasts, burger etc.. rather than a “front” or “hind” 1/4 where you would only get the cuts in that section of animal

Q: What does “the hanging weight” mean?

A:  This is butcher shop terminology. The hanging weight is what the animal weighs once it has had its offal (intestines etc..) removed and is “hanging” on the butcher shops overhead rail system, ready for further processing. The hanging weight is usually about 60% of the live weight.

Q: Can I customize what kind of steaks, roasts etc.. I get?

A: Yes, We’ll go over your options when you order. You have the most options when you order a half beef or whole beef.  1/4s are more limited because the butcher requires each (2) 1/4s that make up a half to basically be the same. If you do order a 1/4 we’ll do our best to match you up with another 1/4 with similar cut sheet instructions, but you might have to compromise a little.

Q: Do you have examples of, tried and true, beef cut sheet instructions?

A: Yes, we have several different sets of instructions that we’ve been happy with over the years, so whether you prefer as much grilling potential as possible, or you’re into crock-pot cooking, or you want a variety of options, we’ve got you covered.
