Welcome to the Stegman Ranch!

We’re a first generation family farm located in north eastern North Dakota. Isaac has managed livestock and grazing for more than 15 years. Isaac and Sarah have ranched near Cavalier, ND since 2015.

Stegman Ranch Custom Grazing

If you need pasture for your cattle for the 2025 grazing season then you should consider custom grazing. For a monthly fee, we provide pasture and handle all the day to day responsibilities for your cattle. We also offer additional services to herds we manage on pasture, like weaning and administering vaccines. Contact Isaac and he would be happy to answer any questions. Our custom grazing season runs from June 1st through as late as the end of October.

North Dakota pasture for 2025. We have enough pasture for around 20 pairs depending on animal size.

If you are interested in us custom grazing your cow/calf pairs, just send us an email or give Isaac a call or text.

Meet the Stegmans

We (Isaac, Sarah and our kids) live on a pasture based diversified farm near Cavalier, North Dakota. Our Ranch enterprises include Hair Sheep (Katahdin and Dorper) Beef Cattle and custom grazing.

Our goal is to not only be a sustainable farming operation, but also to be regenerative — building better soil and a better environment for tomorrow.

Planned Grazing.

We move our livestock to fresh grass every 1 to 7 days. This allows us to keep their diet consistent and improve our pastures over time. Also, moving them to fresh ground gets them away from flies and any disease problems. Planned grazing also allows us to improve wildlife habitat and coordinate around hunting seasons.

Moving the Cows and Sheep to fresh grass is one of our favorite jobs. Not only are we giving them fresh clean food, this is a great time to make sure they are all healthy and thriving.

Proper Stockmanship

Stress free. That’s the goal every time we’re around our animals. Whether we’re moving them to a new pasture, sorting them in a corral, administering yearly vaccines or loading them into a trailer. Proper Stockmanship (as taught by Bud Williams) makes a huge difference and we are constantly working to get better at it.
